More than 2,000 people are expected to join in the third annual Friendship Walk on Sunday, April 22nd, 2012. The event is sponsored by the Friendship Circle of North Broward & South Palm Beach, a non-profit organization which provides programming for children with special needs and their families.

The Friendship Walk is an annual vehicle for volunteers, families and friends of Friendship Circle to show their appreciation and support through an exciting fundraising opportunity. This fun-filled event is also attended by a broad cross-section of people who come together to demonstrate their solidarity and support.

The event begins at 10:00 AM with the opening ceremony at Pine Trails Park 10555 Park Trails, Parkland Fl 33076, followed by a 3K walk that will conclude with a variety of family oriented activities, refreshments and entertainment until 1:30 PM.

Registration for the walk is free, and every online registered walker receives a free Friendship Walk T-shirt. Registration opens at 9:00am. Online Registration is encouraged.

Last year's Friendship Walk drew more than 1,500 participants and raised over $118,000. This year's goal is $150,000, which will be used to expand the services and activities that the Friendship Circle offers to more than 200 families throughout Broward & Palm Beach.

The Friendship Circle, a non-profit organization founded in 2003, has a refreshing approach to helping families of children with special needs. More than 400 volunteers bring the spirit of true friendship and unconditional acceptance to the hundreds of children who participate in over a dozen weekly recreational, social and educational programs, as well as summer and winter camps.
